LA’s sped up time holding us in a summer daze since Christmas eve. I’ll miss Angeleno luxury when I head back to Chicago’s frost bitten children next Monday. But I’m looking forward to days & nights of wool sweaters, new cashmere clothing, boots, hot cocoa, and wine bars.

With next semester being my very very last, it’ll be the shortest and sweetest. Probably because sweet deceptive nostalgia will seep in making the present desirable. But I’ll just snap my fingers and say “NEXT.”

Kosai Sekine

Kosai Sekine is a Japanese director who produces short films, music videos, and advertisements. Kosai's work is visually engaging and reveals a complex observation and interest in Tokyo culture. He has been involved most recently in "Tokyo Ten" by W+K Tokyo LAB, an independent music label which manages artists such as Hifana, Takagi Masakatsu, and Afra. These are two examples of his work:

Maledict Car - Jemapur

"an intricate visual montage or series of patterns of multiple Tokyo cityscapes. The urban swirl of buildings, neon signs, vending machines, expressways.. a more formal visual pattern like that of a mandala or kaleidoscope"

"we start wandering around Tokyo in search of some truth, but it turns out we come back to the starting point finding nothing but a doubt; people in Tokyo live as if they were circling the same position sitting in a 'Maledict Car'"
