"In winter 2004, "The Weather Project," perhaps his most famous piece, occupied the colossal space known as Turbine Hall at London's Tate Modern, one of the world's most visited museums. He covered the ceiling of the nave-like space with mirrors and, at the top of the end wall opposite the entrance, suspended a huge semicircular disk that glowed yellow with the light of 200 monofilament bulbs behind it. The mirrors directly above turned it into an immobile artificial sun. Haze machines periodically added an effect of humid atmosphere that enhanced the illusion of a sky enclosed by architecture. People reportedly came and sat for long periods, spellbound by the discernibly synthetic spectacle."
